Document x MAP Magazine (contextual essays)
We’re excited to team up with our friends at MAP to commission three contextual essays about aspects of this year’s programme – to be published during the festival week.
- Glasgow-based writer and activist, Joey Simons, writes STOCK TRANSFER, a filmography as biography in response to the Glasgow and London housing struggle
- Artist and poet, Sarona Abuaker’s, writes CELLULOID, a textual and visual response to Emily Jacir’s letter to a friend
- Artist and architect, Sukaina Kubba, writes Documents in Time; a response to Forensic Architecture
These commissions are part of TENANCY, a MAP project in twelve parts presenting new work considering what it means to occupy somewhere–or something–temporarily. The project is curated by Helen Charman, MAP Commissioning Editor.
